Ashford is in the heart of The
Garden of England and boasts some fine Georgian houses.
The town is surrounded by countryside which has inspired
such famous writers as H E Bates, Jane Austen and H G
Wells. The town itself is dominated by the great central
tower to St Marys, Ashford’s splendid 15th Century
parish church rising high above other town buildings,
each of its four pinnacles crowned by a golden arrow
shaped weather-vane.
Ashford’s central location makes it an ideal
base from which to visit many of the county’s
attractions, as well as being a major crossing point
of two important routes and an important settlement
from Roman Times onwards. Today the railway still influences
the town and with the completion of the Channel Tunnel
a range of continental European destinations can be
reached in just a few hours from Ashford’s International
railway station.
The open countryside and much attractive farmland
is within just a few minutes drive of the town centre.
There are many small former market towns and attractive
villages closeby including Wye, Chilham, Smarden and
Pluckley to name just a few. These areas contain many
historic and listed buildings that our surveyors enjoy
surveying.
The majority of our surveyors have lived and worked
in the area for over 10 years and are well known and
respected in the local business community. Some have
previously worked for prominent local estate agents
or high profile west end firms. Together they offer
an unrivalled range of property valuation and surveying
expertise.
